Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will lead a Tiranga Yatra in Bengaluru on May 9 to express solidarity with the Indian armed forces.
The yatra will be held from 9:30am to 10:30am, starting at KR Circle and concluding at Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium Circle in Bengaluru.
“It is the duty of every citizen to support Operation Sindoor, which is being carried out by the Indian Armed Forces in retaliation for the Pahalgam terrorist attack,” Siddaramaiah said.
Deputy CM and KPCC president DK Shivakumar said: “I urge thinkers, writers, students, women, government and private sector employees, NGOs, representatives of private organisations, members of the film industry, and all people, irrespective of political affiliation, to participate wholeheartedly in this yatra. I request all participants to carry only the national flag during the event.”
Meanwhile, Minority Welfare Minister Zameer Ahmed Khan said special prayers will be held in mosques across Karnataka on Friday (May 9) for Indian soldiers engaged in Operation Sindoor, a mission to protect the nation.
On May 7, Karnataka Muzrai and Transport Minister Ramalinga Reddy directed the Endowment Department Commissioner to organise special prayers in all temples under the Muzrai Department in honour of the Indian Army.
Meanwhile, Labour Minister Santosh Lad urged the BCCI to cancel the ongoing IPL tournament. “For the safety of all our players and cricket fans attending the matches, I urge the government to instruct @BCCI to cancel all matches and halt the #IPL tournament. In solidarity with our #IndianArmedForces, may they be the only ones we cheer during these times,” he wrote on X.
