An Indian Army soldier was killed after being struck by debris from a Pakistani drone that was successfully intercepted by air defence systems at the Udhampur air base in Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, officials confirmed.

According to defence officials, India’s Army Air Defence units successfully intercepted the incoming drones, but one soldier sustained critical injuries after being hit by a fragment of the falling drone.

He later succumbed to his injuries.
