Heavy rain leaves Delhi waterlogged, traffic crawls

Several parts of Delhi-NCR witnessed heavy rainfall for a second consecutive day on Friday, impacting normal life and leading to suspension of flight operations at Delhi airport's Terminal 1.

While rain has brought some respite from the scorching heat, it has also resulted in waterlogging in many parts of the national capital, with several vehicles submerged.

Videos shared by news agency ANI shows waterlogging in many areas including Safdarjung, Sarita Vihar, ITO, Moolchand, Azad Market, Raisina road, Udyog Vihar, Sheetla Mata road, among others. Commuters, especially those on two-wheelers, continue to struggle with waterlogged roads as shown in these videos.

 

Several people also took to social media and shared videos and photos of vehicles stuck in inundated roads and long traffic snarls.
