In its statement, the Pakistan Army said any renewed hostilities would be met with a “swift, decisive and destructive” response.

The Pakistan Army, on Saturday, issued a strong statement criticising recent remarks by Indian military and political leaders, warning that any future conflict between the two countries could result in “cataclysmic devastation.”

The statement condemned what it described as “irresponsible” and “provocative” statements that, according to Pakistan, risk destabilising peace and security in South Asia.

The warning comes after Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said India has the right to cross any border to protect its citizens and safeguard national unity. The comments were echoed by Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi, who urged Pakistan to stop supporting terrorism on its soil if it wants to maintain its international standing.

Dwivedi also indicated that the restraint shown by India during Operation Sindoor would not be repeated in a future military engagement.
