The Air India Express flight operating from Kolkata to Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad was delayed due to snag, the airline's spokesperson said.
The AIX spokesperson informed that the snag was detected in the origin-assigned aircraft that was supposed to fly on the route, leading to the delay.
According to an NDTV report, airport sources said that the AIX aircraft had taxied to the runway and was preparing to take off when the flight crew detected an issue at the last minute. The aircraft reportedly stood at the runway for an hour.
The airline informed that the fliers were offered complimentary rescheduling or cancellation with a full refund. ANI quoted the spokesperson as saying, Air India Express Spokesperson says, "Our Kolkata - Hindon flight operated, with a delay, due to a snag on the originally assigned aircraft. Guests were offered complimentary rescheduling or cancellation with a full refund. We regret the inconvenience."
As per flight data available on Google, the Air India Express' Boeing 737MAX 8 flight IX 1511 from Kolkata to Ghaziabad — that was scheduled to depart from Kolkata Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport at 7AM, departed at 2.09PM — with the subsequent arrival at Ghaziabad Hindon Airport delayed from 9.20AM to 4.24PM (at the time of publishing this report).
