Rohit Sharma will lead India in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, aiming to achieve long-awaited glory. The squad announcement highlighted the return of wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant after his recovery from a severe accident. Sanju Samson will also be behind the stumps.
Shivam Dube’s outstanding IPL performance, including 350 runs in nine matches with a strike rate of 172.41, secured his place in the India's T20 World Cup squad. India's bowling attack features a strong spin contingent with Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, and Yuzvendra Chahal. The pace attack is spearheaded by Jasprit Bumrah, supported by Arshdeep Singh, Mohammed Siraj, and vice-captain Hardik Pandya.
In batting, there were no surprises with the inclusion of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, and Suryakumar Yadav, who will support captain Rohit Sharma in the top order. However, Shubman Gill and Rinku Singh are listed among the reserves along with pacers Khaleel Ahmed and Avesh Khan.
One notable omission from the squad is KL Rahul, who was a key player in India’s last two T20 World Cup campaigns in 2021 and 2022.

ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Format
The tournament consists of 20 teams divided into four groups of five. The top two teams from each group advance to the Super 8 round, where the eight teams are split into two groups of four. The top two teams from each Super 8 group move on to the semifinals, and the winners of those matches compete in the grand finale for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 Trophy.
