Menu change in anganwadis for more nutritious food for kids

Bangalore, Dec 3 (PTI): The Karnataka government today decided to introduce changes in the menu of anganwadis to ensure that chiuldren get nutritious food. The existing menu comprising rice, sambar and Kesari baath (a kind of sweet made out of sooji, ghee and sugar) will soon be replace by Puliyogare, coconut rice, multigrain chappathi, nutrious raagi kheer, rava laddu, rice kheer and others, Minister for Women and Child Development C C Patil told reporters. The government would supply roti to children in North Karnataka who prefer it, he said. Pregnant women visiting anganwadis would also get nutritious food, he said.
