Tata Sons has appointed Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) CEO Puneet Chhatwal and Tata Consumer CEO Sunil D'Souza to the board of Tata Digital, which currently operates without a CEO after Naveen Tahilyani's departure in May, The Economic Times reported citing sources.

The delay in the CEO selection comes as Tata Group manages the aftermath of the fatal Air India plane crash, the report added. Tata Digital will continue to operate without a CEO for now and will be managed by its board for some time, it further said.

Naveen Tahilyani, the former CEO of Tata Digital, left the company last month, just one year after he took the post. Appointed in February last year, Tahilyani was picked by Tata Sons chairman N Chandrasekaran to steady the ship and steer Tata Digital, an arm of the sprawling conglomerate that houses its super app Tata Neu, apart from its acquired consumer internet businesses such as online grocer BigBasket and online pharmacy 1mg, towards profitability.
