Parag Thakkar of HDFC Securities told CNBC-TV18, "In largecaps any correction in private sector banks be it ICICI Bank, Axis BankKotak Mahindra Bank and IndusInd Bank, any big correction above 5-6 percent is a buying opportunity in my view. Apart from top three PSU banks, the remaining PSU banks are not in a position to lend aggressively when the credit cycle picks up. So, market share is and will be always captured by private sector banks. What I am expecting is that this time in this regime the infra projects will be far more bankable than in the last regime."

"My point is that private sector banks who have not lended to infrastructure in the last cycle, who were very cautious might be more comfortable this time lending. This time there is a opportunity also because most of the PSU banks apart from top three are not in a position to grow that aggressively because they already have problems of bad assets on their books and they don't have capital," he said.

"In financials both banks, private sector banks, SBI and NBFC like Cholamandalam Investment lend at fixed rates. Apart from that I would like to say that the four big themes like construction, railway, defence are the three other themes."
