Dipan Mehta, Member at BSE & NSE told CNBC-TV18, "In consumer space the urban demand is holding up pretty well and rural demand had been constrained because of fears of a poor monsoon but that also was getting gradually receded. My sense is that with the overall economy picking up, interest rate coming of the way they are, the flexibility with the consumer oriented companies is to cut prices, offer discounts because of the kind of savings which they are having on the materials and the other cost inputs, I think it is going to be a growth engine going forward and that is a sector to watch out for over the next two or three quarters or so."Godrej Industriesended at Rs 397.50, up Rs 7.10, or 1.82 percent.
