Akshata Deshmukh, Chief Strategist-Trading at Networth Stock Broking told CNBC-TV18, "I would definitely recommend holding on to Axis Bank, no doubt ICICI Bank has posted much stronger set of earnings compared to this one but overall the private banks are poised well for strong growth going ahead as oppose to the public sector undertaking (PSU) banks which are struggling with the some scams or the other and issues like NPA. So Axis Bank would definitely be a hold and from a one year perspective I am expecting a return of around 15 percent to 20 percent quiet easily."

Axis Bank ended at Rs 418.30, up Rs 1.00, or 0.24 percent. It has touched a 52-week high of Rs 423.70.
