FM cuts excise duty on motorcycles to 8%; Hero Moto gains

In the Interim Budget, Finance Minister P Chidambaram reduced excise duty on small cars and motorcycles from 12 percent to 8 percent.

At 12:21 hrs Hero Motocorp was quoting at Rs 1,988, up Rs 51.30, or 2.65 percent. It has touched an intraday high of Rs 2,015 and an intraday low of Rs 1,920. It was trading with volumes of 18,971 shares, compared to its five day average of 9,102 shares, an increase of 108.44 percent.  In the previous trading session, the share closed down 1.79 percent or Rs 35.35 at Rs 1,936.70.

TVS Motor Company was quoting at Rs 82.50, up Rs 2.35, or 2.93 percent.
