Ashok Leyland rallied as much as 4.9 percent in morning trade on Monday after the Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer registered sales growth of 11 percent on a year-on-year (YoY) basis to 12,330 units for the month of June 2017.
The company had sold 11,108 units in June 2016 as reported in a BSE filing.
At 09:40 AM; Ashok Leyland was trading 4 percent higher at Rs97.55. It hit a low of Rs93.50 and a high of Rs98.50 so far in trade today.
Sales of medium and heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCV) saw a total units sales of 9,202 units last month, up 6 percent on a YoY basis as compared to 8,685 units in June 2016.
Light commercial vehicles (LCVs) sales grew by 29 percent on a YoY basis as Ashok Leyland sold 3,128 units in June 2017 as against 2,423 units in the corresponding month last year.
