Prefer private banks over public banks: Thukral

Prefer private banks over public sector, says Hemant Thukral, SBI Capital Securities.

Thukral told CNBC-TV18, "Bank Nifty is approaching very crucial levels of 9900 and 10,000. That has been an area where bank Nifty has been struggling from last one series. So clearly I would be watching around those levels."
He further added, "I still feel ICICI Bank, SBI, the leading banks, are under pressure. But on the other side there are some private names like Kotak Bank, HDFC Bank and Axis Bank have started suggesting some strength. So clearly that is a bag of mixed trend right now but I would prefer as I suggested private banks over public sector if I have to go long and particularly in that list Axis Bank, HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank, I would prefer to go long."
