Market pulse: Inflow of chilli crop increased to about 0.3-0.32lakh bags while about 60-65% of the arrivals sold at auctions held at Guntur market. Spot rates traded steadily around Rs 86-Rs 90 per kg, based on crop quality. Spot market for jeera at Unjha was closed due to transporters/ truckers strike. Normal trading is expected to resume from Wednesday onwards. Spot rates of pepper garbled were up at Rs 345 per kg and that of un-garbled was up at Rs 330 per kg. Arrivals increased to 21 tons and trades too were up at 31 tons at Kochi market, as per IPSTA. Turmeric arrivals: 1000 bags at Nizamabad with spot rates quoting stood at Rs 48 per kg while ~6,000 bags arrived at mandis of Erode with spot rates offered at Rs 45-Rs 47 per kg. Average price of small cardamom increased to Rs 712.2 per kg, while the maximum price offered was up at Rs 905.5 per kg. Total inflow of small cardamom crop increased to 93.7 tons from which 93.5 tons were sold at SIGC auction held at Kochi. Arrivals of soya bean crop were reported around 45,000 bags, which includes new crop of about 5,000 bags at MP market. New crop arrivals at mandis of Indore stood at 450-500 bags from a total of 1,200-1,500 bags. Spot rates offered by planters declined to Rs 23-23.3 per kg while rates offered at mandis of Indore were down at Rs 22-Rs 22.3 per kg, as per local traders. Guar seed crop arrivals declined to 1,925 quintals, while the average of the closing spot rates was down at Rs 4,020.8 per quintal, as per agriculture marketing board of Rajasthan. Inflow of mustard seed crop increased to 20,826 quintals, while average of closing spot rates were up at Rs 2,564.2 per quintal, as per agriculture marketing board of Rajasthan. The total arrivals of mustard seed crop stood at ~0.78-0.8lakh bags while the spot rates were offered in the range of Rs 30-Rs 30.4 per kg across major trading centers, as per market reports. Mentha oil futures declined sharply after trading margins were hiked by the regulators to curb speculation. However, prices recovered to close in positive, tracking firmness in spot rates and rise in demand across major trading centers.
