Chilli futures witnessed sharp gains in the early session, backed increase in demand from local buyers and exporters. Spot rates too were up above Rs 9,100 per quintal.Inflow of chilli crop declined to about 50,000 bags while most of the crop got traded at auctions held at Guntur market. Arrivals of jeera crop was up ~5,500-6,000 bags while trades were unchanged around 7,000 bags at auctions held at Unjha market. Spot rates for exchange quality crop was offered steadily at Rs 142-Rs 145 per kg. Spot rates of pepper garbled declined to Rs 353 per kg and that of un-garbled was down at Rs 338 per kg. Arrivals declined to 7 tons & trades too were down at 6 tons at Kochi market, as per IPSTA. Average price of small cardamom increased to Rs 557.9 per kg, while the maximum price offered was up at Rs 861.5 per kg. Total inflow of small cardamom crop declined to 63.8 tons from which about 62.6 tons were sold at CPMC auction held at Kumily. Edible oil & oil-seeds fell sharply in the initial session; pressured by over-night losses in the international oil prices and poor domestic fundamentals. Inflow of fresh soya bean crop was up around 3lakh bags at mandis of Madhya Pradesh, while more than 2lakh bags were reported across mandis of Maharashtra, as per market reports. Spot rates of soya bean offered by planters were unchanged at 21.5-21.8 per kg while the rates offered at mandis of Indore traded above Rs 21 per kg, as per local traders. Guar seed crop arrivals increased to 2,543 quintals, while the average of the closing spot rates was down at Rs 3,872 per quintal, as per agriculture marketing board of Rajasthan. Inflow of mustard seed crop increased to 16,696 quintals, while average of closing spot rates were up at Rs 2,601.9 per quintal, as per agriculturemarketing board of Rajasthan. The total arrivals of mustard seed crop declined to about 62,000 bags while spot rates too were unchanged at Rs 2,980-Rs 3,020 per quintal, across major trading centers, as per market reports.
