Taher Badshah of Motilal Oswal Asset Management told CNBC-TV18, "Cement is clearly a sector which probably is looking attractive. I think the cement story can probably extent itself into the next couple of years as well because clearly we are bottoming out in terms of incremental capacity additions and capacity utilization could probably be bottoming."

He further added, "At the margin we are also seeing larger chunks of capacity moving from inefficient producers to efficient producers and rounds of consolidation happening. I think this is a sector where one can probably see a good top-line as well as bottom-line growth in this space for the next 12-18 months as well. So, we are getting reasonably positive as far as the cement sector goes."

"Power is still going to be significantly policy lead and we still need to see quite a lot of on ground level resolutions starting right from the State Electricity Board (SEB). It is still pretty much a macro call and probably it is a sector which will perhaps move more closer to the elections if at all we see any kind of better political configuration coming about, but otherwise cement is far better play between the two," Badshah said.
