Nazara subsidiary Absolute Sports buys ITR Wrestling, TJR Wrestling to expand combat sports footprint

The acquisition will also expand Sportskeeda parent's presence in the United States, which has the world's largest pro-wrestling fanbase

Absolute Sports, the subsidiary of Nazara Technologies which operates sports media brand Sportskeeda, has signed definitive agreements to acquire two online wrestling content destinations, TJRWrestling.net and ITRWrestling.com, for Rs 10.5 crore ($1.25 million) in an all-cash deal, the company said on May 7.

The acquisition is expected to strengthen Absolute Sports' presence in the combat sports publishing industry. Sportskeeda already offers content related to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) on its website.

"ITRWrestling and TJRwrestling are two of the most respected voices in the global wrestling community. This acquisition aligns perfectly with our vision to be the leading go-to destination for wrestling content worldwide," Absolute Sports CEO Ajay Pratap Singh said.

The move will also expand the company's footprint in the United States, which has the world's largest pro-wrestling fanbase.
