Travel and forex services company Thomas Cook India has partnered with quick commerce platform Blinkit to deliver “borderless multicurrency cards” for travellers as well as students in Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.
The forex card, the Borderless Travel Card for leisure travellers and Study Buddy for students, will be delivered within minutes on the doorsteps of the customers, the company said on September 25.
“This initiative will make forex purchasing more convenient, digital, and customer-centric, targeting consumers who might not traditionally engage with forex services,” Deepesh Varma, executive vice president-foreign exchange at Thomas Cook India said.
How to apply and features
The process involves three steps: ordering the card on Blinkit, submitting KYC documents and completing payment via a secure Thomas Cook link, and finishing video KYC to load the card for transactions.
Customers can complete the entire process, including KYC and card loading, through video KYC, call centre support, or branch visits. The benefits include travel insurance, lounge access, Uber vouchers and reward points.
You can load the forex card at live, market-determined exchange rates at the time of the transaction and can view it on their website or app.
A delivery fee of Rs 150 applies for this forex card through Blinkit.
The forex card supports tap-and-pay via Google Pay and allows cash withdrawals internationally.
