Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi released the 21 installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on November 19, 2025, from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. Under this instalment, nearly 9 crore farmers across the country will receive approximately ₹18,000 crore in direct financial assistance through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system, ensuring transparency and eliminating any intermediary involvement.
What is PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana?
Under the PM Kisan initiative, qualifying farmers receive Rs 2,000 every four months, totaling Rs 6,000 per year. The money is distributed in three installments each year: April-July, August-November, and December-March. The funds are deposited immediately to the beneficiaries' bank accounts. The initiative was announced in the Interim Budget 2019 by then-finance minister Piyush Goyal and then implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Following the release of the 21st installment, farmers across the country are trying to know whether the money has credited to their account or not. Especially in rural areas, bank messages and passbook updates are being seen the most.
If you are also a beneficiary of PM-KISAN, then you can check your status immediately by following below mentioned steps: 1. Check status on PM-KISAN website

If you have a smartphone, you can also check the status from the app
Download PM-KISAN Mobile App from Google Play Store
Select Beneficiary Status

3. View bank passbook or SMS alerts
The installment comes directly into your bank account
If SMS is not received then you can visit the nearest bank and update the passbook
Or check balance from Mobile Banking/AEPS.
Many farmers in rural areas also check their balance through Aadhaar based fingerprint scan.
4. Where to get help?
If your status shows Pending, On Hold or Rejected, then you can get information by going to the nearest Agriculture Department office or Common Service Center (CSC). Often the reason is wrong name in Aadhaar, mismatch of bank details or incomplete e-KYC.
5. Why completing e-KYC is mandatory
The installment of many farmers gets halted only because their e-KYC is not completed. You can get biometric KYC done online at pmkisan.gov.in or by visiting CSC.
It is to be noted that more than Rs. 3.70 lakh crores have been disbursed so far to over 11 crore farmer families in the country through 20 instalments. The benefits of the scheme are being provided to those farmers whose land details are seeded in PM KISAN portal, have bank accounts seeded with Aadhaar and eKYC is completed.
