The government has mandated linking your UAN (Universal Account Number) with Aadhaar to allow you to submit your Employee Cum Return (ECR) challans and transfer funds into EPF accounts. To check if your UAN is linked with Aadhaar, log in to the Member Sewa Portal and verify your KYC status under the 'Manage' tab. If not linked, you can do so via the UMANG App, the EPF member portal, or by visiting an EPFO branch or Common Service Centre offline.

Linking UAN with Aadhaar is crucial for several reasons. It ensures seamless transactions in the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF), including withdrawals, transfers, and contributions. By linking Aadhaar, the risk of having multiple or duplicate EPF accounts is minimized, consolidating all funds under a single UAN. This also enables faster PF withdrawals, as linking eliminates the need for employer attestation, allowing you to complete the process online. Additionally, it ensures compliance with government regulations for both employers and employees under social security laws.
