Get your thinking cap on and create these fun Scrabble coasters

Are you missing a few alphabets in your Scrabble set? Instead of throwing the entire game away, recycle them to create something useful. And if you are one of those who loves throwing a party, this is something you will love making. Here is a tutorial on how to create coasters using scrabble. So do not worry about the wine/coffee stains on your furniture. Give your guests customized coasters that not only depict your personality but will also speak a thousand words!
Materials needed

Step 1
Create four letter words like wine, beer, pour, brew, bean, cafe, milk and cake using the scrabble tiles. You could also create three letter words like ice, sip and eat. However, align it by using an empty Scrabble tile. This being the fun part, get your kids to give you a helping hand.
Step 2
Now measure the 4×4 word formation and cut out similar sheets from the cardboard using scissors or a sharp knife. Now using strong glue stick the tiles together. Ensure you have four formations of such words one below the other.
Step 3
To strengthen the coaster further, apply a layer of Mod Podge or waterproof clear varnish. This will not only add sturdiness to your coaster but it will also prevent liquids from seeping in. Once coated, set it aside to dry overnight. Once dried, apply another coat to make it sturdier and viola you have your own personalized coaster.
You do not have to stick with the 4×4 word formations. You could wear on that thinking cap and innovate. However, ensure the coasters are shaped like a square. So get your hands dirty and convert this project into a fun family activity!
