Tata Mutual Fund enhanced its exposure in banking & financial services, services and oil & gas space, while decreased its weightage in food & beverages, automotive and metals & mining space.
TV18 Broadcast, Jaiprakash Power Ventures and IDFC were the top buys, while Mangalore Refinery, Sterlite Industries (India) and Gujarat State Petronet were the top sells.
The study of the portfolio managed by Tata Mutual Fund for the month of March 2013 shows that, in the Banking & Financial services space, the fund bought Housing Development Finance Corporation, HDFC Bank, Yes Bank and introduced Shriram Transport Finance Corporation, while it sold Indian Bank, Rural Electrification Corporation, Power Finance Corporation and exited from Bank of India.
In the Services pack, it purchased Mahindra Holidays and Resorts India and introduced Jet Airways. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds)
In the Oil & Gas space, it bought Reliance Industries, Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, while it sold Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals, Gujarat State Petronet and Cairn India.
On the selling side, the fund sold GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare, Nestle India and United Spirits in the Food & Beverages sector. (Check out - Which sectors are attracting Fund Managers?)
In the Automotive space, the fund sold Bosch, Hero Motocorp and Tata Motors (DVR), while it bought Maruti Suzuki India, Balkrishna Industries and Amara Raja Batteries from the same space.
The fund sold Sterlite Industries (India), Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation and exited from MOIL in the Metals & Mining estate segment. However, the fund purchased Coal India and Hindustan Zinc from the same segment.
