Kotak Mahindra MF picks automotive, telecom; drops bank, IT

Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund has enhanced its exposure in automotive, telecommunication and food & beverages. However, it decreased its weightage in metals & mining, banking & financial services and information technology.

Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund has enhanced its exposure in automotive, telecommunication and food & beverages. However, it decreased its weightage in metals & mining, banking & financial services and information technology.

LIC Housing Finance, Zuari Agro Chemicals and Radico Khaitan were top buys, while Power Grid Corporation, Sterlite Industries (India) and Ashok Leyland were top sells by the fund. The study of Kotak Mahindra Mutual Fund for the month of November 2012 showed that in the automotive sector, the fund bought Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Eicher Motors, while it sold Exide Industries, Ashok Leyland, Hero Motocorp and exited from Apollo Tyres. In the telecommunication space, it purchased Bharti Airtel. (View - All Bulk Deals by Mutual Funds). In food & beverages pack, the fund bought GSK Consumer Healthcare and intorduced Radico Khaitan and United Spirits. While it sold Britannia Industries from the same space. On the selling side, the fund sold Tata Steel, Sterlite Industries (India) and Jindal Steel & Power from the metals & mining sector. (Check out - Which sectors are attracting Fund Managers?) In the banking & financial services space, it sold Housing Development Finance Corporation, State Bank of India and Canara Bank. However, it bought LIC Housing Finance, IndusInd Bank and Jammu and Kashmir Bank in the same space. In the information technology sector, the fund sold HCL Technologies, Infosys and KPIT Cummins Infosystems, while it bought TCS and Oracle Financial from the same sector.
