DSP BlackRock wary of scanty FII inflows, bets on IT & bank

Anup Maheshwari, EVP, DSP Blackrock Investment Managers is worried that inflows of foreign investors is likely to be under pressure. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, he said that there are no signs of investment cycle picking up at the moment and growth slowdown is a major concern.

It was a not-so good year with more worries. Indian market lost heavily, foreign investors fled away and few that remained behind are still nursing wounds. This is, however, not the end. Experts feel that turbulence is going to be worse and one needs to buckle up more tightly now.

Anup Maheshwari, EVP, DSP BlackRock Investment Managers is worried that inflows of foreign investors is likely to be under pressure. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, he said that there are no signs of investment cycle picking up at the moment and growth slowdown is a major concern. As a investment strategy, Maheshwari advised to continue to be defensive. He explains that IT sector is still in growth mode while the banking sector is likely to be the first to outperform if the market turns around. Below is the edited transcript of Maheshwari
