VA Tech Wabag soars 5% on securing repeat order worth $49 million from Nepal

VA Tech Wabag bagged a repeat order worth $49 million order from the Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepane Ltd. to design, build and operate three waste water treatment plants in Nepal.

Shares of VA Tech climbed over 5 percent on May 13 after the company announced that it had secured a repeat order of about $49 million from Kathmandu Upatyaka Khanepani Ltd (KUKL), funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The order entails design, build, operate (DBO), towards three Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTP) in Nepal at Sallaghari, Kodku and Dhobighat, the company informed.

These plants will treat about 69 MLD of Waste Water, and is expected to be completed over 24 months, followed by a 5-year operation and maintenance (O&M), VA Tech said in its regulatory filing.
