Budget carrier IndiGo on Wednesday announced the launch of direct flights between Mumbai and Krabi, Thailand, starting March 23, 2025.
The airline will initially operate six flights a week, with plans to increase frequency to daily services from March 30, 2025.
With this addition, Krabi becomes IndiGo’s third destination in Thailand after Bangkok and Phuket.
“We are extremely pleased to introduce direct flights from Mumbai to Krabi, further strengthening connectivity between India and Thailand,” Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, said in a statement.
The expansion comes at a time when domestic air traffic in India continues to witness strong growth. Passenger traffic rose 11.28 percent to 1.46 crore in January compared to the year-ago period, according to official data. IndiGo maintained its market leadership, expanding its share to 65.2 per cent last month, while Air India Group’s share slipped to 25.7 per cent.
Meanwhile, global brokerage firm Jefferies has revised its India long-only portfolio, adding coverage of IndiGo’s parent company, InterGlobe Aviation. IndiGo now holds a 4 per cent weight in the portfolio, with the allocation funded by an exit from Coal India and a reduction in Thermax holdings.
On the bourses, IndiGo’s stock gained 2.68 percent to touch an intraday high of Rs 4,722.1 per share on the NSE. The stock has been on an upward trend for the last two sessions, rising 5.12 per cent over the period.
