India's outperformance to continue; Mauritius treaty +ve: Mizuho

Tirthankar Patnaik, India Strategist, Mizuho Bank is of the belief that the outperformance of the Indian market will continue barring any evet. He says the fourth quarter performance was one of the best amongst the four.

Tirthankar Patnaik, India Strategist, Mizuho Bank is of the view that the amendment made by the government to tweak its tax treaty with Mauritius was a long time coming, adding that it is a positive move over the longer term. However, some of the market participants might have taken it negatively.

He is of the belief that the outperformance of the Indian market will continue barring any evet. He says the fourth quarter performance was one of the best amongst the four.

The recovery seen by markets since March has been in moving tandem with other risk assets – Emerging market, commodity markets etc., but with a gradual divergence and that divergence is riding out of India’s macro outperformance - be it on current account, fiscal deficit, and inflation.For the entire interview, watch video.
