Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) continued to be net buyers of Indian equities at worth Rs 1,708 crore. Similarly, Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) pumped in Rs 459 crore, according to provisional exchange data on October 10.
During the session, DIIs purchased shares worth Rs 12,760 crore and sold Rs 11,052 crore while FIIs bought Rs 10,236 crore but sold Rs 9,777 crore.
Year-to-date for 2025, FIIs have withdrawn Rs 2.38 lakh crore, while DIIs have invested Rs 5.87 lakh crore.
Market Performance
Reflecting on the Indian market's performance, Vikram Kasat, Head Advisory, PL Capital, said: “Indian benchmark indices extended gains for the second consecutive session amid broad-based buying, except in the metal and IT sectors. The Sensex rose more than 328 points (0.4%) to close at 82,500.82, while the Nifty 50 gained over 103 points (0.41%) to end the session at 25,285.35."
"Momentum was further supported by strong buying in banking and IT stocks, alongside signs of a steady revival in foreign portfolio inflows. As we approach the Q2 earnings cycle, we expect near-term moves to be largely stock-specific, with potential positive momentum in quality financials and large-cap IT,” he added.
