Benchmark indices continue to trade on a positive note but is off the high point of the day with Nifty up 12 points and is trading at 11,684 while the Sensex added 72 points and is trading at 39,033 level.
Nifty Energy has added half a percent led by gains from HPCL, BPCL, GAIL India and ONGC while Reliance Industries was marginally trading in the red.
Nifty PSE is up close to a percent led by NHPC, Power Grid, REC and Coal India among others.
Selective banking names are up in this afternoon session ICICI Bank, IndusInd Bank, RBL Bank, State Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Syndicate Bank and Union Bank of India.
Nifty FMCG is trading in the red dragged by Dabur India, Hindustan Unilever, Jubilant Fooodworks, Proctor & Gamble, United Breweries and United Spirits.
From the BSE midcap space, the top gainers are Shriram Transport, Motilal Oswal, Crompton Greaves, Ramco Cements, LIC Housing Finance and IGL while the top losers are Reliance Infra, DHFL, Reliance Power, reliance Capital and Balkrishna Industries.
The top gainers from the smallcap space are Prime Focus, KSK Energy and S Chand and Company while the top losers are Jet Airways, Jain Irrigation Systems, Adlabs Entertainment and Reliance Naval.
India VIX is down 0.34 percent at 14.60 levels.
The top gainers from the NSE include ICICI Bank, BPCL, Vedanta, Coal India and Power Grid while the top losers are YES Bank, Indiabulls Housing Finance, Hindalco Industries, Maruti Suzuki and Bharti Infratel.
The most active stocks are Indiabulls Housing Finance, YES Bank, Reliance Industries, IndusInd Bank and State Bank of India.
376 stocks have hit 52-week low on BSE including JP Associates, Jet Airways, Kwality, Reliance Infra, DHFL, Reliance Home Finance, Manpasand Beverages, Reliance Communications, Aban Offshore, Eros Media, McLeod Russel, Mercator, PC Jeweller, Jain Irrigation, Punj Lloyd, MTNL, Reliance Capital, Adlabs Entertainment and Cadila Healthcare among others.
The breadth of the market favoured the declines as 621 stocks advanced and 1116 declined while 359 remained unchanged on the NSE. On the BSE, 909 stocks advanced, 1511 declined and 137 remained unchanged.
