John Lennon, Beatles memorabilia to be sold as NFTs

I read the news today, oh boy About a lucky man who made the grade.

And just like they crooned in "A day in the life",  all John Lennon fans and die-hard Beatles enthusiasts will now have the chance to hold a piece of memorabilia of some of the most rock band's iconic moments in form of Non Fungible Tokens (NFTs).

Julian Lennon, the eldest son of the revered singer is selling off several pieces of music history, which are currently a part of his personal collection. However, the ownership of physical items will be retained by him, with each NFT being an audio-visual item that consists of the item imagery and a narration about the same by Julian.

The proceeds from the online auction, which is scheduled to take place on February 7 will be directed towards Julian Lennon's White Feather Foundation, which works towards"fostering education and good health for young girls in developing nations; protecting and preserving indigenous cultures; conserving and sustaining our environment, and give access to clean water".

An NFT of hand-written notes by Paul McCartney for "Hey Jude",  one of the groups' most famous songs, is expected to fetch the most amount at the auction, with bids for the same starting at  $30,000.
