TCS Layoffs: Karnataka Department holds conciliation meeting; next round on Sept 8

A conciliation meeting between the Karnataka State IT/ITeS Employees Union (KITU) and Tata Consultancy Services, held on August 6, ended without a conclusion in the IT majors' layoffs case. Subsequently, a second round of meeting will be held on September 8.

On July 27, Moneycontrol had exclusively reported that TCS is planning to cut around 2% of its global workforce, translating to around 12,200 jobs, in phases over FY26. The move will majorly impact mid- and senior-level employees.

Meanwhile, the conciliation meeting between the TCS management and office bearers of the Karnataka State IT/ITeS Employees Union (KITU) was held at the Labour Office, Bangalore.
