India July manufacturing PMI at 46 vs 47.2 in June

Manufacturing PMI stood at 47.2 in June, higher than the 30.8 level recorded in May.

India's manufacturing Purchasing Manager's Index (PMI) declined to 46.0 in July from 47.2 in June. The PMI had dipped to 30.8 in May.

A PMI reading of above 50 indicates expansion, while a level of below 50 suggests contraction.

Manufacturing PMI in July contracted for the fourth consecutive month.

India, which has the third-highest coronavirus caseload globally, is expected to shrink at its sharpest pace since 1979 this fiscal year, a Reuters poll found last week.
