Hindustan Unilever (HUL) issued a clarification on June 11, stating that Ritesh Tiwari continues to hold the position of the firm's chief financial officer (CFO). "At HUL, we consistently nurture talent and groom leaders as part of our ongoing talent development process," it added in an exchange filing.
This comes after a report said that Tiwari is likely to step down from his role as the FMCG major's CFO and take up a more global position.
Ritesh Tiwari had joined Unilever as a management trainee in 1999. He had held several roles at the company over the years. Before taking over as the CFO of Hindustan Unilever, Tiwari was the Vice President, Finance - Global Performance Management for Unilever and CFO for Unilever International based out of London.
Ritesh Tiwari currently serves as the Executive Director of Finance & IT, as well as the CFO of the FMCG major.
The report and the subsequent clarification comes a day after HUL announced that its CEO Rohit Jawa has stepped down from his role, and will be replaced by Priya Nair.
HUL on July 10 had announced the appointment of Priya Nair as its new Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, effective August 1, 2025. She is set to become the first woman to lead the FMCG giant in its 92-year history. She is currently President, Beauty & Wellbeing, Unilever.
In an exchange filing, the FMCG major said that she will replace Rohit Jawa, who will step down as CEO and MD on July 31, 2025 to pursue the next chapter in his personal and professional journey.
