Jairam Ramesh calls Aadhaar bill unconstitutional, moves SC

Jairam Ramesh, former union minister, has moved the Supreme Court against the Aadhaar bill, calling it unconstitutional and accused the government of circumventing the Parliamentary process.

The government has been facing a lot of heat for introducing the Aadhaar bill as a money bill in Parliament.

It has decided to go on the offensive, arguing that the Lok Sabha speaker has the prerogative of accepting the bill in any form that she deems fit.

Jairam Ramesh, former union minister, has moved the Supreme Court against the Aadhaar bill, calling it unconstitutional and accused the government of circumventing the Parliamentary process.

Supporting the bill, the Center told the Supreme Court that the certification by the Lok Sabha speaker is immune to judicial challenge.
