Below is the edited transcript of the interview. Also watch the accompanying video

Q: Will the Finance Minister bite the bullet?

A: FM will present a strong pro-reform Budget. It will be debated, it may get watered-down but that is much better than a populist Budget. He is going to present a very strong budget.

Q: On any of the controversial reforms - FDI in multibrand, retail, insurance, pension, Mamata Banerjee not willing to play ball, do you think he is just going to leave the controversial reforms outside of the budget, FDI and civil aviation?

A: I don't think so. I think he will bite the bullet this time and the happenings after the railway budget presentation has given me a lot of confidence.
