Net profit of Zee Entertainment is seen falling 12 percent to Rs 191 crore in the quarter ended March, 2015 from Rs 217 crore in corresponding quarter last fiscal. According to a CNBC-TV18 poll, the company's revenue may grow marginally by 5.2 percent at Rs 1220 crore versus Rs 1159 crore year-on-year. The media company is expected to announce March quarter earnings on May 21.
Analysts, however, feel ad revenues may register a growth of 15-17 percent on back of new channels &TV and Zindagi. Regional channels are likely to further boost revenues. Subscription revenue is seen growing by 10 percent.
During the quarter EBITDA is seen down 18 percent at Rs 256 crore against Rs 312 crore (Y-o-Y) while EBITDA margins may come in at 21 percent compared to 27 percent on yearly basis.
However, launch costs of &TV may hit margins. The newly launched general entertainment channel may post loss of Rs 100-110 crore while sports business may incur a loss of Rs 17-20 crore.
