Hindustan Zinc Q4 net profit surges 47% to Rs 3,003 crore, revenue rises 20%

Hindustan Zinc on April 25 reported Q4 net profit at Rs 3,003 crore, its highest ever for the January-March quarter of FY25. This marked a rise of over 47 percent from the Rs 2,038 crore net profit reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The company's revenue from operations meanwhile surged over 20 percent year-on-year to Rs 9,087 crore, its highest ever Q4 revenue.

Hindustan Zinc's operating margin also improved significantly to 42 percent, while net profit margin improved to 33 percent. The company's zinc, lead and silver segment generated a revenue of Rs 8,806 crore during the quarter under review, marking a rise of over 21 percent year-on-year.

The metal company's EBITDA also significantly surged by 32 percent YoY to Rs 4,816 crore, while EBITDA margin stood at 53 percent. The firm said that it saw a "historic high production of mined metal of 1,095 kt and refined metal of 1,052 kt" in FY25.

The company's CEO Arun Misra said, "Hindustan Zinc achieved its highest-ever mined and refined metal production this year. This milestone was driven by improved operational efficiencies, AI integration, and a strong focus on digitalization and automation, resulting in sustainable cost reductions and industry-leading margins. With the renewable energy arrangement with Serentica, we reinforce our commitment to clean energy and solidify our role in the global energy transition."
