Godrej Consumer Products posted numbers for Q1, which were below estimates; but the internals indicate strength.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Vivek Gambhir, MD & CEO of Godrej Consumer Products spoke about the results and his outlook for the company.
Gambhir said soaps business saw 3 percent volume growth.
He further added that July has trended well for the company and saw high single-digit growth in April and May.
He expects Q2 to be much stronger and will also see better margins going ahead.
According to him, India advertisement spends will remain around 12 percent sales.
Rural demand will lead to higher growth in lower priced stock keeping units (SKUs), said Gambhir.
He further said that market shares have increased in soaps and insecticides.
