Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) under pressure as the company Q1 earnings disappointed. In an interview to CNBC-TV18, Anoop Kumar Sharma, CMD of the company spoke about the results and his outlook for the company.
World shipping is going through the worst phase in the markets. Loss of Rs 7 crore in Q1 numbers is mainly due to the tanker freights which have come down in this quarter compared to last quarter, he said.
In winter months the tanker market go up and we should be able to sustain revenues from tanker segment, he added.
He expects market to be better in next two quarters than what it was in last quarter and winter months will be very good, said Sharma.
