HCC's Q2 net loss down 56% to Rs 17.9 cr, stock spikes

Hindustan Construction Company (HCC) has posted a net loss of Rs 17.9 crore in the second quarter of FY13, which was less compared to a loss of Rs 41 crore in a year ago period.

Hindustan Construction Company's (HCC's) September quarter net loss shurnk to Rs 17.9 crore when compared with  a loss of Rs 41 crore,year-on-year.

Total income rose by 4.26 percent to Rs 864.3 crore,YoY. Operating profit margin too improved to 13 percent  during the quarter as against 11.3 percent in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal. Praveen Sood, group chief financial officer, HCC said, ''The environment continues to be challenging for the infrastructure sector. We have undertaken several measures to deliver performance even in this lean period.'' The company said it has received orders worth Rs 758 crore during the quarter.taking the order book size to Rs 15084 crore. At 12:08 hours IST, the share rose 3.5 percent to Rs 17.80 amid large volumes. For more update watch the accompanying video...
