Bajaj Allianz General Insurance on Saturday announced that Tapan Singhel, Managing Director and CEO has been re-appointed for a further period of five years, with effect from April 1, 2017.
Singhel has been at the helm of Bajaj Allianz General for the last five years. In a statement, the company said that under his watch, Bajaj Allianz General Insurance emerged as the most profitable private general insurance player in the financial year 2015-16 with a net profit of Rs 564 crores.
In addition, it recorded the highest profit among all companies in the industry in the nine months ending December 31, 2016.
Meanwhile, Bajaj Allianz Life has appointed Tarun Chugh as its Managing Director and CEO with effect from April 1, 2017.
He replaces Anuj Agarwal, who has moved overseas within the Allianz group. Prior to this, Chugh was managing director and CEO of PNB MetLife Insurance. Chugh has over 22 years of experience in financial services, including nearly 13 years of experience in the Indian life insurance sector.
