See tremendous growth in EMs like India: Vodafone

Quoting higher EBITDA margins for India, Vittorio Colao, CEO, Vodafone, says the emerging markets (EMs) hold tremendous potential.

After hiking its stake in its Indian arm to 100 percent, British telecom major Vodafone has spelt out that it has big plans for India.

Speaking exclusively to CNBC, the company's chief executive officer Vittorio Colao said India now has higher EBITDA margins than Europe. He also believes the growth for Vodafone lies in emerging markets (EMs).

We have a second position in the market. And everybody is saying, wow! India already represents the second largest data country for Vodafone. So, if I have to take the long term view it will be that emerging markets will produce good returns because of the data story and because there is no infrastructure in these places,” adds Colao
