After delaying it for three years, luxury hotel brand Ritz Carlton is finally in India. Its first hotel was opened in Bangalore on Friday. In a CNBC-TV18 exclusive, Herve Humler, President and COO, The Ritz Carlton spoke about why India is an important destination and what are their future plans here.
Below is the verbatim transcript of his interview on CNBC-TV18 Q: What do you think of your first hotel in India?A: The most important thing for Ritz Carlton is to finally have our flag in India. This is a great opportunity to be here and that is the way we look at it. Q: What about your plans for rest of India? Bangalore is going to be clearly your entry point but which other cities are interesting? What are the other locations? How many hotels will come up in India over next few years?
A: It is a terrific opportunity and when we look at India as a whole, we want to be in Mumbai, we want to be in New Delhi and other destinations.
