Jindal Steel and Power (JSPL) has entered into manufacturing of head hardened rails. The company has invested Rs 200 crore for head hardened rails.With a capacity of 30,000 tonnes of head hardened rail per month, the company is eyeing projects from developing nations, says company Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ravi Uppal. Uppal says the demand for head hardened rail in India will be around 200,000 tonnes per annum, which is 15-20 percent of the total rail requirement.It has secured an order of supplying 10,000 tonnes head hardened rail to west Asia.Demand is also coming in from Gulf countries as there are plans to connect Gulf Cooperation Council GCC countries by rail.Watch video for more.
