Has ease-of-doing-business improved in West Bengal?

The Trinamool Congress has brought in a lot of political and economic changes in the last two years of its rule in West Bengal, says Harshvardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Neotia.Neotia is speaking to CNBC-TV18's Ritu Singh from the sidelines of the Bengal Global Business Summit that is currently under way.Neotia talks about how the Bengal government has reduced paperwork and has introduced e-governance to improve ease of doing business. He is of the view that regulation issues with respect to land ceiling still exists in Bengal. However, it is possible to get permission from the government. In addition, the state has established a land bank which is being made available to corporates, he adds. On the company's performance, he says Ambuja Neotia group has three to four projects under construction in Bengal and another four are under the planning stage. The company is looking to invest Rs 3,000 crores in the next four years to expand its business, Neotia says, adding, he is confident of Bengal getting its share of investments, with an uptick in growth momentum in the country.Watch video for more.
