Bajaj Auto saw weak sales in the month of May with weak trend in domestic sales while export showed a decline.
In an interview to CNBC-TV18, S Ravikumar, President-Business Development at Bajaj Auto spoke about the latest happenings in the company.
“We will be cautiously optimistic, exports this year are going to pan out much better than last year”, he said.
At retail level, the company is still holding on to 19 percent market share.
Bajaj Auto has sold almost about 2,700 units of Dominar – about 1,500 units in domestic and exports has been about 1,200 units.
Ravikumar said, he is sure to achieve the target of about 9,000-10,000 sales of Dominar. “Whether it will happen by September or December, that is a question of time. The feel that we have from the buyers of Dominars is fantastic but we may have to give it some more time than what we expected”, he added.
He expects to see pick up in exports a bit faster than domestic in Dominar sales.
