Havells India has just announced their entry into the water purifier segment. In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Narendra Choudhary, Executive VC of the company spoke about the latest happenings in his company and sector.
Penetration level in water purifier industry is still very low, he said.
Considering the water purification need, we expect this market to grow at the rate of 20 percent CAGR next five years, he added.
According to him, there is enough space to grow in this business. “With that intent we are coming into this category,” said Choudhary.
Speaking about market share, he said, over a five years’ time, our estimate is that the industry will become more than 8,000 crore and by that time we expect to have 8-10 percent market share.
See some challenges in Q3 but going forward, we expect the normal growth will come, he further mentioned.
