Dixon Technologies, Amber Enterprises, Aequs and Samvardhana Motherson are among the top domestic electronics manufacturing giants dominating the applications for Centre’s electronics manufacturing scheme worth Rs 23,000 crore, a report by the Business Standard said on October 6.

Significantly, 90 percent of the applicants for the scheme are Indian companies, the newspaper said citing a top official from the ministry of electronics and IT. The strong interest from the domestic companies reflect their aggressive investment plans, BS said.

The government has received investment proposals of over $1 trillion, surpassing expectations with Delhi-based Amber Enterprises leading a Rs 4,200-crore plan for two projects in partnership with a South Korean firm, BS said.

Dixon Tech has proposed a Rs 4,000-crore investment plan that involves manufacturing of display, camera modules, enclosures, Li-ion cells and optical transceivers, the report said.
