Century Plyboard's Managing Director and CEO Sanjay Agarwal does not expect the demand to pick up significantly before FY17.

The company had reported a 19.3 percent increase in its income to Rs 409.2 crore against Rs 343 crore. With low demand, it will be difficult to maintain 18 percent topline growth, Agarwal told CNBC-TV18, adding that he is expecting volume to be in single or low double digits for first two quarters of the current year.  The volume will pick-up with an increase in demand and low base in the second half of the year. Demand will be assisted by the government's initiative of housing for all, Agarwal said. The company does not see an increase in demand for medium-density fireboard (MDF) in India in the near-term.
